Directions

Hochhaus Herrengasse is located in the heart of Vienna’s first district, near the city centre. In front of it, you can find the famous Alpha Go monument that was inaugurated last year. The underground station “Herrengasse” is directly adjacent, other major sights are in walking distance.

From Wien Meidling: Take the line U6 (Brown Line) in the direction of Floridsdorf and change at the stop Westbahnhof to the U3 line in the direction of Simmering.

From Wien Westbahnhof: Take the U3 line towards Simmering and exit at Herrengasse.

From Vienna Airport: Take the regular S-Bahn line S7 (not the green CAT, this is an expensive trap for tourists) towards Floridsdorf. You can buy a ticket for about EUR 4.00 at the machine, which is valid for the entire trip to the tournament location.
At the stop Wien Mitte (Landstraße) change to underground line U3 in the direction of Ottakring and exit at Herrengasse.

Rules
60 minutes thinking time.
Canadian Byo-Yomi – 30 stones in 10 minutes.
Japanese rules with 6.5 Komi.

Pairings are determined by the EGF rating, as are participants in the top group. MMS and SOS will be used for the evaluation, but not SOSOS. If two participants share the same ranking, they will each receive half of the joint prize money.

There will be a separate ranking for beginners who are playing a major A class tournament for the first time as well as for players from Non-EGF countries!

EUR 20.- for adults,
EUR 15.- for pupils, students and unemployed (ID card!)
EUR 10,- for children up to 14 years
EUR 5,- for children up to 10 year

Please register by Friday, June 14th at the latest, otherwise we have to charge an extra fee of EUR 5,-.

Food and drinks

As every year, a cold buffet with sweet and savoury snacks will be available on Saturday and Sunday. Drinks, coffee and tea cost a one-time fee of EUR 2,- and can then be consumed as much as you like. (Except beer).

Please use one of the affordable hostels or book your own accommodation, e.g. at AirBnB.
